Millstream is a 40-year-old architecturally designed home set  among attractive lawns and gardens against the backdrop of Garland's Bush reserve. A stone-walled stream runs through the property giving a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. 

 

The accommodation consists of a bedroom with king bed, en-suite and a separate lounge.   Although within walking distance of central Masterton, the area is quiet.  The accommodation has a private entry and  separate carpark.

 

Your hosts are Karl & Caryl Taucher.  The Taucher family emigrated to New Zealand in 1876 from Bohemia in Europe.   The area they came from was Spindlemuhler. The name has since changed to Spindleruv Mlyn, and with historical changes in boundaries is located in the north of the Czech Republic.   Translated Spindleruv Myln is "mill stream" and co-incidentally, a flour mill, which is now recorded as an historic site, was located in Queen Street, on the stream running through this property.
